We are fortunate that in the current circumstances, Bennett Wealth Group can remain open for business. Our staff are working from home and are well equipped to operate and perform. This operational change is not something new to us, as we have been working remotely at various times, for nearly 10 years now, and our IT systems have been running on VPN and remote servers, so the security protocols are long established.
As a precautionary measure to minimise the risk of exposure to you and our staff, we will be conducting our engagements remotely rather than face-to-face. This policy will be in place until further notice.
While this isn’t our preferred method of working with you, we believe it is a necessary and practical measure to protect the health of you, your family and our team.
Client meetings can be conducted using skype/zoom calls (preferred as we can share screens), phone calls, face time or any other format that is convenient and works for us both.
It’s an opportune time to introduce Shannon Bennett (no relation – fortunately for her) who replaced Jess in January. Shannon has worked in the financial services industry for 13 years and in her last role was employed for 6 years as the senior paraplanner / practice manager in a self-licensed financial planning business with 4 advisers and a large team. She brings great energy and plenty of wisdom to our business.
We are also pleased to announce that Jess Wong has been engaged again to provide extra support to our community of clients during this busy time. Jess worked for us for over 15 years until December when she went back to do a post grad in Psychology.
Notwithstanding the hard work ahead as we navigate our clients financial strategies through the ongoing turbulence, we do feel we are in a position to use our knowledge and resources to help families less fortunate who aren’t in a position to pay.
As a team we discussed this and decided to try to help a couple of struggling families and ideally someone who is from within your circle or our circle. We picture this being a family who may not be getting much relief from the Government or support services, have children who will suffer, and want some guidance during these difficult times. If you know anybody in this situation, please contact us to discuss how we may be able to help. A conversation with us to decide on some actions, could bring comfort.
We also encourage you to pick the phone up and talk to us in those moments where you are feeling anxious or wondering what is going on with your strategy.
It’s also worth mentioning that our business isn’t being buffeted by the storm that is engulfing many financial planning businesses as a result of the royal commission and associated legislative changes. Being self-licensed, fee for service, having a low client numbers / high touch model with a holistic approach, is serving us well during this time.
We feel privileged to have such a wonderful community of families to work with and look forward to meeting the challenges and opportunities ahead with you.
Take care,
The BWG team – Linda, Nicola, Courtney, Stuart, Shannon, Jess, Mike and Martin.
